What is a Flat Fee MLS
Service?
Traditionally, when your home is listed by a Real Estate Broker, you pay a 6—7% commission. The listing broker will then split the commission (generally 50%) with the Real Estate Agent who brings the buyer. When you use a Flat Fee MLS service you are paying the broker a flat fee to list your property in the MLS service. By using this service, you are only obligated to pay the commission fee to the broker/agent who brings you a buyer. Your immediate savings is about 50% of a normal commission. You would be paying 3% instead of 6%.
And, don’t forget, if you sell the home yourself without a buyer’s agent bringing the buyer, you pay 0% commission, absolutely nothing other than the initial flat fee to list the property.
